I didn't see it coming. One of my characters fell in love.
"Well, you write romance," you say, "so this is to be expect."
But it wasn't. He was supposed to be stuck on himself. And after many
brutal hours of trying to keep him in his place, I hit the delete button
and started over. I let him take the lead, and the scene progressed
quickly.
I am proud of my character. I am proud of me.
